Little Women is full of amazing quotes! Below you’ll see which quote fits with your enneagram type in these Little Women quotes by Enneagram types.

I, as a rule, do not type fictional characters. I know it’s a fun thing to do and I’ll admit I do it internally but I won’t create a post telling people what enneagram type Jo March was. Why? Because fictional characters are an amalgam of the author (or screen writers/producers) imagination.

That said, I will do quotes by enneagram types. Quotes are just a snippet of the person who said it but that snippet can be a decent glimpse of what a particular enneagram type might believe or agree with.

This does not mean that if Amy March says what I think is a type 4 quotes that she is a type 4. It just means that the quote seems 4ish.

Now that I’ve got all my disclosures over with, on to the fun stuff! All of these quotes are from the Little Women book (not movie, although many can be found in the movies as well).

Little Women Quotes By Enneagram Types

Type 1 Little Women Quote

“If I didn’t care about doing right and didn’t feel uncomfortable doing wrong, I should get on capitally.”

This lovely quote is from Miss Jo March.

Type 2 Little Women Quote

“The humblest tasks get beautified if loving hands do them.”

This isn’t a character quote but rather a narrator quote.

Type 3 Little Women Quote

“I want to do something splendid… something heroic or wonderful that won’t be forgotten after I’m dead.”

This quote is from Jo March who then goes on to say “I think I shall write books, and get rich and famous, that would suit me, so that is my favorite dream.”

Type 4 Little Women Quote

“Beauty, youth, good fortune, even love itself, cannot keep care and pain, loss and sorrow, from the most blessed for… into each life some rain must fall, some days must be dark and sad and dreary.”

This one is not actually a character quote but rather it is said about Laurie as in “Laurie was learning that…” On top of that, this quote has a quote within it. “into each life some rain must fall, some days must be dark and sad and dreary. is from Longsfellow.

Type 5 Little Women Quote

“I don’t pretend to be wise, but I am observing, and I see a great deal more than you imagine. I’m interested in other people’s experiences and inconsistencies, and though I can’t explain, I remember and use them for my own benefit.”

This quote is actually an Amy March quote which often surprises people.

Type 6 Little Women Quote

“Dear me! How happy and good we’d be, if we had no worries!”

A very fitting type 6 quote from Miss Meg March

Type 7 Little Women Quote

“I don’t like to doze by the fire. I like adventures, and I’m going to find some.”

Not surprisingly, this is a quote from the adventurous Jo March.

Type 8 Little Women Quote

“I’d rather do everything for myself, and be perfectly independent.”

Yet anther Jo March quote!

Type 9 Little Women Quote

“Because they are mean is no reason why I should be. I hate such things, and though I think I’ve a right to be hurt, I don’t intend to show it.”

This amazing quote is from Amy March.

As fun as it is to find literary or movie quotes that fit our types, that of course, is not where the real growth is.
